ROAD PAINTER 1.1 – QUICK GUIDE

Description
Road drawing tool for FS25 on PC in single player and multiplayer. Create freehand roads,
straight roads, two-point curves and T/X junctions on your own land.
Choose seven surfaces and widths from 3 to 8 m. Interlocking pavers run
across the road. Paving rows follow the local road cross-section in curves. Roads have straight ends perpendicular to their local
travel direction. F11 enables or disables markings for new roads on every
surface. With markings enabled, 3–5 m roads have edge lines; widths of 6 m
and above also have center and junction markings.

Installation and use
Copy FS25_RoadPainter.zip to the FS25 mods folder and enable it in-game.
Replace existing copies. Press Alt+Insert to open the drawing view.
Select surface/width with F2/F3. Hold the left mouse button, drag and release
to draw a freehand or straight road. For a curve, press F8, click the start,
adjust the radius with the mouse wheel and click the end (at least 2 m away).
Release the mouse button between clicks; the preview follows the mouse.
Camera zoom is disabled in curve mode and returns when you leave it.
F4 switches the curve side. The HUD shows the radius in meters. The minimum
possible radius is half the distance between the endpoints.
F11 affects new roads; placed roads retain their chosen marking setting.
Select T/X with F5, rotate with F4 and left-click to place the junction.
Completed roads and undo actions are saved automatically.

Multiplayer
Use and enable the same ZIP on the server/host and every client.
Wait for road synchronization after joining. Farm managers can build and
undo roads on their own land. Roads appear for everyone after server
approval. F10 removes your farm's latest road. Only the server saves roads.
When moving servers, include roadPainter.xml and the profile backups.
Multiplayer test version: testing in FS25 on multiple machines is still pending.

Notes
Grass and decorative ground foliage are removed when new roads are completed,
including curves and junctions. Those roads are cleared again on loading
and joining. Older roads without a vegetation-clearance flag are not
retroactively cleared. Edges follow the terrain density grid. Save the game normally to retain
vegetation changes. F10 removes the road but does not restore vegetation.
New roads automatically level the terrain beneath the carriageway, using
a smoothed longitudinal profile and a flat cross-section. Construction is
rejected if changes over 0.75 m are needed or the area is blocked. Smooth
steeper ground in construction mode first. Leveling runs on the server.
F10 restores neither terrain nor vegetation. Save the game normally to
retain terrain changes. Older roads use denser meshes on loading but are
not retroactively leveled.
Tight turns can overlap.
Check the save status if SPEICHERFEHLER appears. Backups are stored in
modSettings/FS25_RoadPainter, plus roadPainter.xml in the savegame folder.
